| Day 1 (Saturday March 1, 2008) |
We are in Cuernavaca. The trip went smoothly. No flight delays. No problems in customs. The bus ride was OK. [The chickens were very well behaved--even better than some of the children.]
We arrived at the Diocesan center amid cheers and salutations from Bishop Delgado and the staff.
There is a new priest here recruited from The Catholic Church [shock!]. His name is Fr. Tony. He's only been here seven days. I think he was anxious for company...
I went to bed while he still was telling the others stories.
We had a short worship service last night. My guitar is still here and in good shape.
We sang of few songs and then Doctor Bob introduce to us our spiritual theme for the week:
Simplicity. Basically, one's life becomes more simple as one gives up trying to control things oneself and
trusts in God that they will be taken care of by the creator, like the lilies of the field and birds of the
air. It's easy for the message to hit home as we dwell among those who nothing stored up for tomorrow and
trust that God will provide.
Saludos a todos.
Ques Dios le bendiga.
