Day 5 (Wednesday July 20, 2005)
Hello People Who Read This Thing,

First off I would like to say that the Mexican keyboard is weird. Today was a L-O-N-G day! We woke up and did the usual breakfast and morning worship. Then we all departed to the Estrella Blanca bus station where we got on a bus to Taxco. Two hours later we arrived in Taxco. Oh wait, I forgot to mention the part where our bus got stopped and the bus driver had to go inside a building and give blood to make sure he was substance free. Good thing for us he was. When we got to Taxco we had to take little VW beetle taxis to the top of the hill. In case no one has informed you before, taxicabs in Mexico equal death. Okay, so maybe I’m exaggerating a little bit, sorry to scare you Mom. But still they are some crazy drivers. When we arrived at the top of the hill (all in one piece, thank the Lord) we ate lunch at a Mexican restaurant. They offered such things as tongue and brain tacos. I’m pretty sure that everyone passed on those two items. My whole table ordered enchiladas. For dessert, we had a selection of rice pudding, flan, cheesecakes topped with your choice of peaches, blackberries, or strawberries, and lastly apple and mango pie. According to Jill blackberry cheesecake is the best, however I must disagree. Mine was peachy. =) After we paid the bill and tip, which the waiters were very pleased with, I might add, we went inside a Catholic church made entirely of gold. Can you say fancy? Then we shopped. We must have looked at thousands of pieces of silver. After shopping for three hours we met back up at the Anglican church, where some of us traveled to the roof because of the beautiful view. Lots of pictures were taken. Then we hopped back on the bus, got stuck in traffic, and arrived an hour later than we were supposed to. We ate dinner, but by the time we were done, Theresa had already left so Las Tres Hermanas de la Cocina took over. That would be Jill, Brenda, and myself. We washed those dishes till they done shined! And now we are finished and are about to go night night!

Brought to you by Mandy Bergeron
