| Day 4 (Tuesday July 19, 2005) |
Hola familia de todos!
The top means hello to the family of every one. Well today was a good day. We finished the
building. Thank you God! And then we ate lunch. Teresa prepared this awesome meal. It was
ham and cheese dipped in milk, flour, and eggs and then fried. It was something different
for all of us. After lunch we rode taxicabs to the placedo de Cortez, the palace of Cortez,
a historic museum. It was all very interesting to see the culture of Mexico and of all the
tribes that were and still are here today. It’s so interesting to see the people talking in
a different language and to see the people that are here with us speaking Spanish and amazing
themselves because they come to notice that they know a little more Spanish then they imagined.
After the visit, Father Justin took us to an ice cream place in one of the squares and it was,
of course, Mexican ice cream. It was absolutely delicico; it was good. Then we went to see the
cathedral which is one of the biggest and oldest catholic churches in Cuernavaca. It was so
beautiful and one of the churches had a carving of saints on the wall where the altar was.
It was painted over with gold paint which made it look so beautiful. You would just be amazed.
After that scene we headed back up to the hill where we then broke into groups and shopped in
the market made up of artisans, which are people who make their own things and sell their own
things as well. We learned how to bargain and how to shop in a different way. It was also cool
because there were people there shopping from all over the world. For example, I met someone
from France and I also saw people there from China, which was very interesting. After this
long trip we were all tired so after service most of us changed and went to sleep and then
the rest took a quick shower and headed to sleep. But we thank God for the strength he gave
us to enjoy this day. Thank you for all the prayers and I hope you enjoy the poem. God Bless!

Strangers
Different people brought together to the house of God,
though we all seen odd.
We became like one, and all things were done.
In his name we gave thanks.
A long day was ahead,
so we knew we could not stay in bed.
We worked hard,
but that was just a little part.
Riding through a strange land,
God still had us in his hand.
Strangers were all around,
and to see that they were down.
Would make you thank God that you were found, saved, and blessed.
Because you were not one of the people who had less.
Most people don’t know how it feels to not know if you have anything to eat or a place to sleep.
You see strangers come in all types and forms,
but its sad cause not all know the lord.
